Christmas dinner in a cosy warm environment with a great atmosphere. The food was top notch, sirloin cooked to perfection with all the usual trimmings 👌…. so good we came back Boxing Day 👍🏽
Would highly recommended if you’re in the area…. and if you’re not in the area it’s well worth the trip😁

I really nice pub to visit food is very nice a bit pricey but enjoyable and the pub has reasonable parking.

A nice log burning fire made the pub welcoming. Food we had was amazing, fish was the biggest portion we have seen,made with a very crispy batter. Scotch eggs as stater were great. Nice size portion for dessert. Will definitely visit again.

Great Staff, Greet Drinks & Great food. Ordered the Haddock & Chips. The batter on the absolute unit of a fish fillet was insanely crispy in the best way possible. I thought the pea aioli was going to be a pretentious jizz on the side but I was pleasantly surprised when it slapped harder than my mother finding me smoking in my bedroom after college. My only gripe would be that plates are the superior vessel for which to serve great food on, boards and slates are so last millenia & they make the front of house experience living hell when clearing tables.

Charming countryside pub with a lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Such a refreshing change to have a nice choice for vegetarians with a homemade Vegetable Wellington. The Yorkshire Pudding was amazing! Finished with local ice cream for dessert, honey and lavender. Will definitely visit again soon.
The staff were very attentive and nice to chat to.

Checked online to see if they had tables for food, which they did have until 9PM. We arrived at around 8PM and politely asked if they are still serving food. We were informed by the staff that the whole pub has run out of food...
We've never heard of that excuse before but we continued to buy a drink anyway and sit down. We then saw 3 people turn up after us who then proceeded to be sat down by the same member of staff we spoke to and they took their food order!!
After bringing this up to a member of staff at the bar, they stated it was that fact they only had food left for anyone who reserved a table.
By that logic, I could still book a table online there and then and then order food.
Really poor service, I don't appreciate being lied to and then seeing another group of people being sat down and orders taken.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today, service was great, the food was spot on, staff were also very attentive and everyone including other customers were very friendly, it’s a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely make this a regular haunt!! Will be taking other friends and family to enjoy another great meal. Well done to everyone at the Black Horse.

This place is an amazing Gem of a pub. Hidden in a quiet village called Brent Pelham. We went there on a whim, having been there once many years ago. What we found was wonderful. The atmosphere was good, the staff very friendly and the service was fantastic.
Now the menu, too many good things to choose from. It was varied, catering for all tastes. It was Fish and Chip night, when we went. The piece of fish served was as long as your forearm and delicately battered. Home made chips added to the experience. The beef short rib was a delight. Well cooked and full of flavour. The homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli in a pea and mint jus was also a thing to behold.
The chef here certainly knows how to prepare fantastic meals.
We will most certainly be back again, soon.

I ordered gammon egg & chips eggs where hard gammon was awfully fat under cooked gammon was dry worst meal ever had there new management need to sort out won't go back such a good pub being run very badly

Excellent Sunday lunch. Lamb shank was very tender. Freshly cooked vegetables. Cauliflower cheese was delicious with a browned cheesy toping.

This seems like a lovely pub with a pleasant inside and a nice garden. However, it is completely let down by the service. We attended as a large group that pre-booked and pre-ordered for a birthday celebration. Only one person serving behind the bar on a busy Saturday. The food was 45 mins late coming out, so we asked where it was and were told that they couldn’t even give a time estimate. It eventually arrived over an hour late. The waitress did apologise, but couldn’t give a reason why it was so late. The manager offered a round of drinks to apologise, but didn’t bother to come to our table, even after we pointed out that we had all pre--ordered and some had travelled for hours to get there and were starving. The food was ok, but we then had to wait a long time for the cake to come out - and had to ask twice. Overall the meal took well over three hours due to the poor service, so unfortunately I can’t be particularly positive about our experience. It was a special day and unfortunately this terrible service was just not acceptable.

Lovely meal at lunchtime - interesting things and tastes on the menu as well as the tried and tested pub classics. Loved the use of candied jalapeños - and the lemon balm. We had 4 starters between the two of us. All were lovely. Super service, and very friendly. Great to see it up and running. Sunday lunch looks like a future booking for us. Anywhere that does pink beef is a plus!

A really lovely meal at The Black Horse. Service was friendly and excellent, and the food was delicious. Our sons enjoyed playing in the wwoods around the pub gardens.
